Facts About Pitt Meadows
Pitt Meadows is a thriving community located in the Lower Fraser Valley which is east of Vancouver. Currently home to about 21,000 residents. Farming is a big industry in the city so it is mostly agriculture on the north side of the Fraser River. The City is also intersected by the two arms of the Allouette River,
Pitt Lake on the City’s northern boundary, is the largest tidal lake in North America. Along Pitt Meadows northwest edge is the Thompson Mountain Range.
Pitt Meadow farms grow many different types of crops but are known for their greenhouses and smaller fruit like blueberries and cranberries!
The community is primarily flat and is bordered on two sides by the rivers, it has over 40km of dykes. The dykes not only keep the city from flooding but creates many trails for everyone to enjoy at their leisure.
Pitt Meadows is known for being a tight knit community. There is a total of 5 neighbourhoods in the city. Starting with West Pitt Meadows which is the largest neighbourhood in the city. When driving through the west you hit Pitt Meadows city centre where you will find all the apartments, stores, shopping and more followed by, central Pitt Meadows, Pitt Polder and then when reaching the end of the city you are entering North Pitt Meadows.
Pitt Meadows public schools fall under SD42 sharing the district with Maple Ridge. Schools in the are include Davie Jones Elementary, Edith Mcdermott Elementary, Highland Park Elementary, Pitt Meadows Elementary and there is one highschool in the city which is Pitt Meadows Secondary. There are a number of specialty programs offered within School District 42 such as Montessori, French Immersion, Mandarin Immersion, Reggio Emilia, and International International Baccalaureate.

Condos in Pitt Meadows start at about $319,000 for a 1 bed 1 bath and end at about $700,000 for a 2 bed 2 bath. Townhomes in the area start at about $600,000 and ending at about $1,150,000 depending on size, bedrooms, how old the building is etc; For a detached home the price is starting at $950,000 and ending at about $5,000,000 for land/farm.
Parks and Recreation
There are 36 municipal, community and neighbourhood parks in Pitt Meadows including, Advent Park, Eagle Park, East Morningside Park, Grant Narrows, Harris Landing Pitt River Greenway and many more. Pitt meadows is great for shopping locally since it is a small knit town, most shops are locally sourced and or owned with endless stores to choose from including organic grocery stores like; Langley Farm Market, Shopping centres include:
Meadow Town: This shopping centre includes restaurants like Opa, hair stores, health and wellness shops, Micheals, Superstore, Home Sense/ Winners, JYSK, BC liquor store and a Cineplex Odeon.
Meadowvale: Bordered by the Fraser River Meadowvale has 26 shops and services. This shopping centre include stores like shoppers drug mart, restaurant services including pizza and sushi, nail salons, banks and business services, and an independent movie theatre (Hollywood 3 cinemas).
